Hey guys, so the Redmi 5 is finally out, and this time it’s even bigger. The previous Redmi 4 had a 5 inch display which is appealing to those that prefer a smaller screen. But this time the Redmi 5 is 5.7 inches with 720 x 1440 resolution and if that’s not enough, the Redmi 5 Plus is sporting a 5.99 inch display with 1080 x 2160 resolution, both having 18:9 ratio.
There is no difference in the contents of the box so not to bore you, I’m only going to show 1 of it. The Redmi 5 is in Gold and the Redmi 5 Plus is in Blue. This is the first time I’m using this Blue shade and prefer it to be darker. There’s some slight difference in the design as well.
One main difference is the CPU, Snapdragon 450 on the Redmi 5 and 625 on the Plus, but both having the same Adreno 506 GPU. The other difference is the battery capacity, 3300mAh on the Redmi 5 and 4000mAh on the Plus. Other than that, both feature fingerprint sensor, micro USB port, 12MP back camera, 5MP front camera and running MIUI 9 on Android 7.
That’s all for this short unboxing. I will be using these phones for a little while to see how it fares, so be sure to subscribe so you won’t miss the full review.
